the course is finished. we feel it is the best course yet at devil's head. it is fast and rough with multiple lines in quite a few places.

here are some of the things that are starting to show up for awards and give aways. a big thanks to Anchor Freeride, E-13 Components, and Back Door Bike Shop for this stuff.

rand mcnally says 5hrs 30mins 297miles from superior,wi to merrimac,wi.

for anyone looking to come there is camping available, or you can get a room at the resort for $75 a night if you ask for the WORS group rate when you make the reservations. there is a restaurant and bar on site. also indoor and outdoor pools.

Did you get any more pictures yet of the course?

we did snap a few pics of julian on the course, but i need to get the camera they are on to upload them. i do not know how good they turned out, we were having some major camera issues. we tried the helmet cam, but the stupid camera wouldn't record anything to the tape and we could only get 20 seconds of filming onto the sd card so we said screw it and just kept riding instead.

i'll post when i get them.

Yo guys...

Talked to Julian he said we need to come, so tomorrow I am going to get a room at the lodge. I have room for two more in my vehicle. So who wants in?

Sounds a little biased for those driving a subaru...should have noever sold mine! XC racers join in on Sunday for what sounds like a mix of gravity working for and mostly against you.

for those coming with little ones. riven downhill (http://rivendownhill.com/default.aspx) is sponsoring a kids downhill race for ages 12 and under (the race is aimed towards inexperienced riders so if you have a kid that is good it may be a bit boring for them). the course will be rideable with training wheels with the help of a parent (it starts in the woods and finishes on the ski slope) the race will follow immediately after the devils drop downhill. each racer will get one timed run. awards will follow the race (all kids will medal)

hope to see your little ones there!

Fisher,

Hey, the WORS site, under next weekends event's page, says to see the site for further details on the Devils Drop DH race, but I can't find any registration or info anywhere????

The other racers (xc) have to pre-reg by the 20th. Is this the case for the DH race? If so, where are the forms? What's the cost? Do we need Devil's head day passes?

what up?

where's the course pics??

on-line registration is closed, you will have to register when you get there. there should be signs directing the way to registration, or just ask someone.

dh reg. is $35, you are suppose to get a devils head pass also.

the classes are novice, intermediate, open, and womens. top five in each class will get something. (i'm not sure of what yet because the last of the stuff is showing up thursday)

all registered riders will have a chance at the planet-x frame i have to give away. you must be present to recieve any awards, i will not be shiping anything.

we are also holding a kids dh for young ones right after our race. all kids will medal.

if you call devils head to reserve a room, ask for the wors subaru cup rate.

pics can be found here http://fattires-n-beer.com/v-web/gallery1/view_album.php?set_albumName=devils-head-dh

i hope this answers some ????

wtf, when was online registration ever open!?!?! I was all over the WORS for the past two weeks and there is no info on this DH race. How much it cost, where it is, when it is, when it'll be open for practice, how to register, etc.

The only thing listed for Aug 26th under events that I can find is an XC race. C'mon, what kind of event are we showing up to?

Are we incurring an extra "day-of" reg fee now? I'm just flustered by the lack of any official looking info on the race.

sorry about all the confusion, things got messed up and wors had to switch servers, and then switch back due to someone who decided to mess every thing up with spam.

the dh is part of the subaru cup stage race, here is the link from the wors main page http://stagerace.wors.org/about/

here is the page with the dh info http://stagerace.wors.org/events/index.php?page=devilsduo

day of is $35, you only saved $5 by preregistering.

sorry about all the confusion

Werd, that's what I was looking for. Thanks bro. No worries, $5 is cool. I was thinking it would be a little more significant.

um, since it's all tornadoes and rain here. what's the call on the weather situation on saturday if its raining or what not. do they cancel or postpone?

ufisher
08-24-2006, 09:46 PM
i am not the one who would make the call, but all i could find on the wors site is that the race can be stopped for life threatening weather.

i did just check accuweather and it actually looks pretty promising for saturday, merrimac,wi http://wwwa.accuweather.com/forecast-details.asp?partner=accuweather&traveler=0&zipcode=53561&metric=0&fday=3

hope for the best
