I am thinking of putting a diffrent bar on my bike. My hands are getting numb when I do a lot of riding. I have a 1 1/2" riser on now an I am thinking of going to a 2 " The bars I have now are just a steel cheep pair, but they are holding up nicely. I was thinking of putting some Azonic, raceface,WTB carbon bars on. I like the wider bar I have on now its 27".
Does any one use these bars and what is the best for under $50.
Thanks
Mark

How much steerer tube do you have above the top of your headset? Are there any spacers above your stem right now? If so, bringing the stem up is the easiest solution. You may also have friends that have stems in different lengths and rises you could try out before spending the cheddar.
Do you feel like you've got too much of your weight on your hands? There are so many variables here and everyone's physiology is different. Some folks prefer bars with more sweep. Some prefer different grip diameters and materials.

One thing to look at with your risers that helped me out a lot when it was pointed it out to me:
Look at your bars from the side of the bike (down their length). If the grips flare "up" at all, rotate rearwards until there is no upward flare from the bend/sweep. The grips should be flat (parallel to the ground). Then go ride. Adjust from there.
I had my risers rotated too forward. Now that I got them back so the grips are flat, I have better control and there is less of a pressure point on my hands. Two bike have stayed this way. On my other bike, I ended up putting just a little forward rotation back in them, but much less than I orginally was running.
