Sweet video! Us BMXers reinvented those tricks in the 80's.....:laugh:...thinking we were all original and crap.
Have you ever heard of or seen a rider named Pat Romano? He rode for Mongoose in the 80's and ran a fixed gear. Actually, if you go see the movie RAD, see thread in Trials forum, you will see Pat ripping it up on top of a trailer in a parade...... Just don't tell anyone I told you to go see RAD...:D

I just read an article is some bicycle magazine from Canada that had a discussion about modern day flatland. The sport has gotten so tough and technical, it can't really grow and will never make money for the pros. The reason being, you have to sell product in order to have pros that make money.....and flatlanders don't sell product....or not enough of it anyway. The article basically said the pro flatlanders need to stop complaining about not making any money because they do things in such a way that they can't sell product. It's funny, but a sport that has gotten so difficult that any newbie thinking about getting into it might just say, "@#$% it, I am going to get a Freeride bike or BMX street bike, I can do that." I think Trials has actually gotten this way too. Most people see what trials riders can do and think there is no way they could ever do it. Sure, both flatland and trials are a blast to watch, but I honestly don't think either sport will get super big. Anyway, I didn't go off topic at all did I??

Well, you didn't mention beer. ;) I can't argue with your take on it. It's a totally different animal than 20+ years ago. It's pretty amazing how it's evolved and become segregated, when back then, all the pros did it all, flat, ramps, park, and street. I like having a 20" again to mess around on, attempting all the old tricks I could almost do blindfolded. It's all biking, so it's all good.
