I am a recent transplant from Michigan and live in Plymouth. I have found some of the trails in the south TC area, but would like something a little closer. Are there any decent trails in the north/northwest metro area?

Welcome Nate!

You've got Hillside Park in Elk River, just to the north. Great trail! ~7 miles of twisty, hilly riding. Also a little farther up I94 is Camp Manitou in Monticello.

Whereabouts in MI you coming from?

Most recently Ann Arbor. I also used to live in Holland (in western MI)

Welcome Nate,

I used to live in Canton (MI), and used to bike close to Ann Arbor. I rode at: Poto, Island Lake, Torn Shirt and Maybury.

Welcome again and enjoy the trails here! (I am certainly enjoying them).

I used to ride the Poto and Island lake quite a bit. So far around here I have been to Theo Wirth and the River Bottoms, and have tried to find shorter trails around my place in Plymouth. I will probably try Hillside tomorrow - hope I can bring enough water!!

Just an FYI to ya, Elk River has a adventure race tomorrow and we'll be there from 12 to 4 helping with the mountain bike race portion. So, the trail might be busy. I'll be there in the morning around 10 to clean things up a do a lap or two. Maybe I'll see ya there!
