View Full Version : Monti-Trail Camp Manitou Info ??

I've seen in the past week that a cleanup session was done on the trail this past Tuesday. Can I get an update for my calendar of any future clearing projects. Also I was hoping to get an update on how the trail was looking? I've read it was very overgrown a few weeks ago.

I'm tentatively planning a ride next Monday night there if anyone is interested - maybe 5:00 at the trail head

Any Updates would be great!

We only cleaned up the first quarter or so of the trail. It is still very overgrown and needs to be trimmed. We need to get a brush mower to go through the trail. I haven't heard from Kevin yet on a day but we'll be meeting Saturday.

I think a brush mower may struggle up and down some of those steep switchbacks out there. They may not have the power to go up some of the hills and could be a danger to roll on some of those steep inclines in the tight singletrack sections. Some areas may require weed trimmers instead. Hopefully between a brush mower and some weed trimmers, you should be able to get it all done.

Yeah, the brush mower won't get it all. We need one to get the long grass in the open areas. We'll go through the singletrack with weed-whips and loppers. Ryan, you wouldn't know if MORC has something we could borrow?

I'll stay tuned for a trail day clean up, I have a weed whacker and some shovels to add to the list. Also if a weekday works best for you i could come out and help the week of August 14th.

Awsome, I'll be sure to post up. Not sure when we'll get out there again though. Our calendars are booked yet again.

Thanks Ryan. Kevin was thinking if we could get one for a weekend we'll go through the entire trail. Maybe then we'll have Boo Blast out there this year. ;)
