Please forgive my ignorance if this has been covered. But I was wondering if the new dh stuff was done at memorial. I'm thinking of heading down on monday morning, and looking at the pics, I'm pretty f'n stoked. And if anyone wanted to head down with me, that'd be awesome since I've never been. carpool. word. thanks!
YES, it is done, there might be some late additions. like the night before, as I am out of town this week but would like to move some more dirt I'll be headed down Friday and working till dark then coming back Sat early to pre-ride and race!
To get to the trail!
Drive to the top of memorial, all the way past the look out, then you'll come across a chained over drive way on your right, park there along the road, PLEASE DON'T BLOCK THE DRIVE WAY!!! ride your bike down the mowed path for some distance, onve you hit woods look to your left and you'll see an entrance with a log, that's the DH follow that sucker to the bottom!

I think Buck meant to look to your left.... other than that Buck's directions are spot on.
Head out on the main doubletrack that pretty much runs straight down the middle of the bluff. It's all mowed even (thanks City of Red Wing). Keep following the main trail and as you actually hit woods (no more prairie on either side or in front of you) start looking to your left. There is a nice little entrance with a log not too far from the start. This is the beginning. Follow this trail all the way to where it spits out onto the double track keep going down the double track for about 20 yards or so and look to the right... there is a little chicane section that then leads to the next section of trail (the section with the big drops).

Oh yeah, we'll be makin' it down for this one on Saturday! Perfect way to get primed up for the XC race there the next day.:)
Right on Rich!
Its only ten bucks to enter and there is a payout for the top three.
The fun begins at 11:30am but the course is on public property so show up early!!!
I'll be headed down early evening on Friday to run through the course with a shovel in hand doing some last minute dirt moving. Then be back early Sat. morning to start running the course!
The course is nothing crazy or out of hand, just plain fun!
