Ann H, one of my U riders, sent me this link. A friend/professor at Cornell started a freeride park in Ithaca, NY, an I thought you guys might be interested.

As soon as you and some friends step up and start an initiative like this guy. The world is run by those who show up.
There's people doing what they can right now. Some of us "showed up" and plunked down for a 4000 mile road trip to attend the IMBA summit held in Whistler, BC this past June. We learned alot about what it takes to get one of these things done while we were out there. And believe me, it takes more than even old Bill knows. The initiative is there, it's happening. Just like Theo took years to get going, so will any Freeride park.

Yeah, it takes a lot of time and boring meetings and political BS, but in the end it is worth the effort. The dirt work isn't anywhere as hard as the face to face stuff. Dealing with a city the size of Minneapolis can wear anyone down. Good luck getting the freeride area going. I hope it works out.:)
Made a little visit to this place in May...kinda fun. It's the West Vancouver BC Freeride Adventure Park. Located next to their community center and a couple of skate park bowls.
