I'm not sure how many beginners are on the site, but judging by some posts, I think maybe setting up a beginners skills session may be in order. So, I'm not a rider who does any big air type riding, but I try to be very efficient and have been riding since 1991, with a 5 yr hiatus in there, since I went roadie for a while:D But I think seeing if some people would be interested in a beginner skills ride with some pointers on the Theo wirth trail may be soemthing I'd like to set up, depending on how many people want to do it.

Potentially here, I can't make the women's and I have to recover from the bird flu first

I will probably be holding another Level One session in Mid July. I also need to do a Level 2 session soon.
Here is the MORC Skill Session (http://www.morcmtb.org/morcpages/skillssessions.htm) page.

The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards doing it earlier. maybe July 8 or 9th? That way people will be able to have a basic level of riding knowledge under their belt, and still have almost all of July etc to ride as well. How does that sound?

Looks like there's enough people. Lets set this up for Saturday July 8th at 2pm. Of course, bring your bike, helmet, water etc for riding. Meet at the Theo wirth trailhead at that time, and we'll start Q and A's and then ride the trail and I'll point out techniques as we go. We'll stop and go into more detail with things like how to climb, ride over obsticles like rocks and logs, as well as how you want to start a ride. There is a parking lot next to the gated dirt road to the trail head that you can park at. So, ride your bike past the gate at the dirt road and go down until you get to the start of the single track trail I.E. the trailhead. Sounds cool for everyone? I'm asian and will be riding a red Cannondale super v. Any questions, just give me a holler.

Nue - thanks for taking the time to show the beginners a few tips and tricks. It helped a lot to see someone ride an obstacle before you tackled it yourself.
I'll have to keep getting out to practice what I learned.
Thanks again!

I am glad people are using the forums to put stuff like this together. This is what will really help the sport grow.

I'd be more than happy to set up another one. I'm glad the attendees found it useful. Is there a time that would work for you guys? I'm about 4 blocks away from the Theo wirth course, so after 6 on weekdays or pretty open on weekends:etard:
