ERIK’S BIKE SHOP ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF THEIR NEW STORE IN ROCHESTER, MN
Bloomington, MN, June 20, 2006 - Erik’s Bike Shop announces the opening of their new store located at 3851 Marketplace Drive NW, it is situated between Super Target and Home Depot on the west side of Highway 52 and south of 41st St. NW.
As an active community business leader, Erik Saltvold, CEO and Founder of Erik’s Bike Shop, is excited to open his new store in Rochester, Minnesota. “As one of the largest cities in Minnesota, it was named as one of the “Best Places to Live” and is the recreational hub of Southern Minnesota - Rochester is a city to watch and we are excited to join the Rochester business and recereational community, “ says Erik Saltvold.
This year is Erik Saltvold’s 29th year in business. That’s right, he was only 13 when he started Erik’s Bike Shop in 1977. His interest was sparked by his first bike, a hand-me-down from an older family member. With entrepreneurial spirit, Erik began his business, where he bought used bikes, repaired them and sold them. Erik's original workshop was in his parent's backyard. A home-made sign brought business to his doorstep during the weekends. Today, Erik employs up to 125 people with 12 store locations and growing. Erik enjoys working at the shops and helping customers find the perfect bike or snowboard!
Last year was a year of accolades for Erik’s Bike Shop. In addition to receiving top dealer recognition from Specialized Bicycles, Erik’s Bike Shop was also recognized as the largest Raleigh Bicycle dealer in the United States. “Erik’s Bike Shop greatly contributed to the success and excitement around Raleigh and Diamondback branded products ...They represent the best in the Raleigh family and the best in the industry.” said Steve Meineke, President of Raleigh America Inc.
