Just a quick summary of what's been going on in Red Wing since I've read in a few posts about how overgrown Memorial is (and it is/was)...

It's taken a while for us to get on the trimming work, but a large portion of that got worked on tonight by Gus and me. We weed whipped and raked pretty much all of Henke's Hollow, Centerfold, and Loveshack leading into Margaritaville. This section was completely overgrown and not too fun to bust through, so it's a relief to get that taken care of.

Most of Lay Down Sally is cleared. Hopefully the wind and stuff blew off some of the climbs in Lay Down as the hay made it harder to climb last time I was out there.

We still need to weed whip 2112, and go through and light trim all remaining singletrack. The city is going to be mowing the doubletrack and fireroad stuff sometime this week (probably Thursday I think), so things are rounding up nicely.

In a day or two I'll post up a little info on race courses (never too early) and a new event this year.

took a friend up there riding last night, we didn't get real far on the singletrack before we decided doubletrack would be a better starting point. but the singletrack that I saw looked great.

Gus/ Issac- Just a reminder, let me know when you guys need help setting up for the race. I'd be happy to help!

If I can ever get done emailing/surfing the web here I am going to tackle a couple of the other really hairy spots weed/slapper wise.

Portor... I'll make sure Gus posts up or at least tells me whats up race setup wise. I do know if you can somehow navigate his website the courses are up.

Umm yeah- Gus needs some help with that site. Navigation is a mess and the fonts/colors are not easy to read!

Understatement of the century....

If you're interested... I think Sport is doing all of the singletrack to the five-way... then down to the Quarry and up the insanely hard (for me) off camber technical climb up... across the bridge... then taking the lower path instead of Lay Down Sally (2112)...

Yes Stairway is being skipped. The thought was to have a quick, hard lap instead of throwing as many nasty climbs as possible into it. There is still plenty of up and down for everyone, and there will be less all out attrition if the weather is 150 degrees like last year.
