The City of Lakes Tri-Loppet will be held that morning to raise money for the City of Lakes Loppet XC ski race.
Website (http://www.tri-loppet.com/)
The race is a triathalon that involves canoeing, running and mountain biking. The mountain bike portion uses the Theo trails and the race should be well over by noon that Saturday.
Please, everyone, help us make this event successful. Stay off the trails this coming Saturday before Noon and help spread the word that the trails will be closed.
For our sacrifice of a few hours of weekend ride time we will get back quite a lot in return by holding a successful event on this trail. So, in advance, thank you all from the board members of both MORC and MOCA for staying off the trail at this time.

Chris,
Are they telling you noon? They are telling us 1:00 PM, and the biking leg is the last one. I think we may still be sweeping racers of the trail at noon.
There are 3 MORC and 3 Backcountry patrollers helping out.
Ride safe,
Hans

Are we going to be allowed to have races to help pay for the materials we use on the trails that other people get to have events on to raise money for thier projects? That would be nice wouldn't it?

Ummm,
Not to be the over Optimistic Pessimist, but what is the plan in case it rains or the trails are not in ridable condition?

If it rains they'll be riding on the ski trails.

I hope that's true, as it rained here for the past hour (9-10). Who is policing this?

Not to worry...we had everything diverted to the ski trails 15 minutes after the rain started, and before the first canoe ever left Thompson Beach. The only riders who ever saw the singletrack were 3 MORC patrollers, and they were off it before the rain really got going.
We're good.
Ride safe,

John and Tom were out there too, everything was shut down - probably a good thing, I heard there were some serious injuries :hit:
