We are in need of some good quality (permanent type) signs at some of our trails. These would be similar to road sign quality with good clear lettering etc.

Examples might be a sign with trail rules, warnings at expert level trailheads etc.

I'm wondering if anyone knows someone who knows someone who might be willing to donate or give MORC a discount on this type of signage.

I may be able to get some sort of deals on signs. i work at the minneapolis area association of realtors and we get signs made for us all the time- I could ask around?

That would be excellent!

I think they could be reflective... wouldn't hurt at least.

Especially for all those night-riding fiends!!!

Depending on how reflective they are, you might run into problems when Bob goes out with his homebrew lights...could get the neighbors or airplane pilots thinking there are extra-terrestrials at Leb!!! :D

i know u want like a road sign, but what about a more natural looking sign? i think that would look better and be less "invading"of nature....

It would be nice as long as its durable... we have to assume there are people who will try to destroy/remove/modify it. Unfortunately even with the many cool riders we have in the area there are a few morons out there.

Not sure if this topic has been resolved by now, but FWIW...

I came across this picture of a sign out at Whistler:

What do you think about having something like this at the entrances to the X and XX loops at Leb?

Obviously we wouldn't need something like this on all MORC trails, but where there are concerns about people getting in over their heads...it's hard to miss this and it gets the point across pretty clearly!

Does Dakota County have a sign shop? I used to work alongside the sign shop for Washington County and they can pretty much whip up any kind of sign like you see alongside the road. Reflective, heavy duty paint, metal sign. Would be pretty rugged.

I think they can build wooden signs, but not the good roadside quality we need.

I WISH I had that ride :cryin: (in addition to my current Ibex ride that is, do you think I'd be that "unfaithful") !!!

But now that you mention it...yes, that is an Ibex bike in the pic. I came across it (and the sign) while on the MTBR Ibex forum. Sorry it's off topic, but for those that are interested, there's a pretty good review of that very sweet DH bike here (well worth the quick read):
