Hello, I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a bike route from the UofMn campus to Theo? One way would be to take the Midtown Greenway (to Grand Rounds), but it is kind of out of the way. The other I could think of would be to take the Cedar Lake Trail (via Hennepin, then Penn Ave to Glenwood?).
I tried to map out the two routes but I'm not sure they saved properly:

The U team rides out of stadium village to the walking bridge, then River Road and 1st to the Cedar Lake trail connection. You can go all the way to Theo Wirth Parkway on the trail or the road. It's almost exactly 7 miles one way.

Hey Ken,
Do you know how busy traffic is on Plymouth? My bike map didn't show a bike lane so I'm curious

I use Plymouth all the time for road rides. It is the quickest way downtown from North and West. It is 4 lanes wide and I rarely have any conflicts. It runs right into the Wirth chalet, although the railroad bridge is under construction, so you will have to do an off road detour.

I ride Plymouth Ave almost every day for my commute to work. There's seldom much traffic. As Bill stated, it's four lanes, but there is generally not enough traffic to really fill both. I think at some point, it might be on the master plan to be re-striped as a bike route... I cannot recall where I read that or if it will really happen.

Just take Washington ave all the way down to Plymouth. Hang a left and go all the way down to the bridge construction. This should be done by the end of the summer. But for now, hang a right and go up the hill until you hit Golden Valley road. Turn left, and go until you hit Theo wirth parkway. Turn left on Theo, and you will see the trail head on your right.

Hey nue,
That's the route I've been taking and it seems to work out all right though not the greatest (always broken glass). I actually just biked through the construction since they aren't working by the time I get there.
