I rode through Wirth at the start and end of my road ride yesterday, and stopped at the North loop entrance and counted riders. I counted for twenty minutes at 11:15 and 1:30. Late morning I got a count of 16 and early afternoon I got 11. I picked 20 minutes, because that is an average time for a rec rider.

So, let's pick a number between those two counts and say we're averaging 13 riders every 20 minutes.

Since the sun isn't out all day long and few people get up right at the crack of dawn to ride, we'll say 12 hours of the day people are riding Theo (9 a.m. - 9 p.m.). Based on that it's concievable that we're averaging just under 500 riders a day at Theo.

We should, SOON, get an inground counter out there for a total trip count, and also a visual total user count. Maybe the MPRB will do another survey.

500 riders a day at Theo.
Conceivably, that would be a pretty good estimate of trips, but I'm guessing more in the range of 100-150 riders, which would be huge anyway.

I just remember trying to do trailwork a week ago with such a high volume of riders!

OK, game on! Now, we're gonna take the top of this rut-

"RIDERS UP!"

Hey ... hi ... how ya doin' ... OK ... now-

"TWO MORE!"

*sigh* Hi ... you're welcome! ... All right, back to the rut. We're-

"THREE MORE! RIDERS!"

Hey ... hi ... how ya doin'? Sure, you're welcome. Every Wednesday at 5 p.m. if you want to help out! All right, now back to this little rut, let's use the Pulaski to-

"RIDERS!"
