Meet at the Rec. Center Parking lot off Winthrop.

We'll be working on the sharp turn on the "Wall of Death" trail right before it dumps out onto the creek path.

What to bring: Come prepared to move some dirt for this one. Long pants and sturdy shoes will be best. Work gloves highly recommended. I will have a good share of tools but you are welcome to bring your own. Mattock, shovel, axe, and pulaski's will be of most use.

Also, if anyone has a Hi lift jack similar to this one, http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0000AX77R.01-A1787XOD7Q2I4M._AA280_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg and if your OK bringing it to trail work, we could use it on monday night to pull pipes out of the ground. Thanks!

Hope to see you Monday!

I have never helped on one of these before, but count me in. I have no tools, but I am handy with them. Does swinging a heavy garden tool and moving dirt count as cross training? :D

Definitely crosstraining. That'd be great to meet you and see you out there! No experience needed. We'll give you some tips and answer any questions you have, on site.

Thanks,

I will be there, unless family issues come up. Do we have access to a large sledge hammer in case we can't get the jack? Or we could dig down and Sawsall the post out. Just some thought's.

Good call. I will be bringing all of the above to tackle it in whatever manner seems most judicious/fun. :) The only thing I don't have is the jack.

Thanks Troy. See ya out there, unless something comes up!

Finally, some real trail work, and I am going to have to miss it. :cryin:

The 5th is my birthday, and something will be happening that evening. :jumpy:

Assuming nothing comes up at home I'll come along as well. :)

Ditto for myself. I do believe I will be eating bacon wrapped shrimp that evening and enjoying multiple yummy tasting beers.

I'll make sure to try and get out for the next one.

I'll be there, but I'll probably get there around 6.30 or 7 (?). I'll just park off of 61 and walk up trail to the Wall o' Death.

See you there--Matt

I don't think I am going to be able to make it.

When is the next one? I'm quite keen to come along and help, but tonight isn't going to work.

Great work last night guys!! We got a lot done despite the rain-out. Guess that downpour will be a true test to our trail building skills.

Summary:

We got all the dangerous pipes removed from the switchback last night. After that, we moved up the trail a bit and started deberming the rest of the Wall of Death down hill. We got quite a way on that before the deluge forced us to retreat.

We will continue working the same area next week. Meet at 5:30 at the Winthrop lot, then we'll head down to the Point douglas entrance. If you come later just park in the Point Douglas lot off 61.

Thanks again to all that came out last night.

P.S. There's an early morning ride planned for thurs. at 7:30, starting from the Rec. Center if anyone is interested.
