Has anyone had any experience buying biking socks from Longs Cycles?

Here's their site:

http://www.longscycle.com/

Are they reputable?

Thanks!

I wouldn't buy from them based entirely on their poor site design. :crazy2:

I wholeheartedly agree!!!

BUT...what is a student to do? 6 pairs of coolmax socks for $20. :crazy2: Almost sounds too good to be true (if you read the fine print, these are seconds in most cases, but hey, I don't really care if there is a minor blemish as long as they are half way decent socks).

I haven't really worn biking socks before, just recently made the switch to clipless and am getting much more serious about riding (a lot more of it and greater intensity)...so me thought to myself, why not be much more comfortable for the longer days of riding and get into some comfy socks.

For those with much more experience in this dept. than me, how much variation is there in riding socks? Is this one of those items that you would put money towards to get real good quality?

Anyone actually ever purchased from Longs?

Thanks!

If you are truely on a student budget then check Target or Walmat for running socks. I have some that are thin and breathable. 3 pair for about $4 or something like that.

i actually prefer a cotton athletic sock to the cycling socks i own. my shoes were fitted wearing regular socks so the thinner cycling socks mean my shoes slip around more than i would like. thats just me tho...

My problem is that I sweat like a beast, including my feet. On longer rides my cotton socks just feel way hot and wet. My wife has started using some biking socks and loves 'em, so I thought I'd give them a try.

I had "bike socks" for years and recently started just using Target's CoolMax athletic socks and I'd say they are just as good if not better than my old bike socks and half the price. I think though that the CoolMax ones only come in white so mine are all now Single Track Brown - very fashionable.

I just bought a 3pack of them for $8 yesterday. They are also available in black and have worked very well for me.
