Is the Memorial trail description page (http://www.morcmtb.org/trailreviews/south/memorial.shtml) still accurate? Never ridden Memorial before. May be heading down Saturday morning. Will be pressed for time if I make it. Probably only 2 hours or less to ride. Hoping the good stuff falls into my lap.

I'll be down there for part of Saturday don't really know when yet, But I plan on riding the DH for a while, and buffing out some of the sections a little more and scouting for a good start point!

For the most part the description is ok... a few things (going off of my memory of the description):

- The experts only descent down to the golf course may or may not be rideable by experts. I haven't been down there this year, and due to this small section of trail actually being on Correctional Facility land, we're kinda letting that section go the way of the dinosaurs.

- Instead of going all the way to the lower quarry parking lot to park and ride, I'd stop at what amounts to the third overlook (the first little parking area after the road splits off). Head down the pavement and look for a spur of singletrack on your right. Take this up to the clearing, and then look for singletrack on your left in the woods. This is the official start of the trail.

Other than that there is a lot of little sections of singletrack that aren't on the review, but shouldn't be too hard to find if you follow the review and keep your eyes peeled.

If I don't go to Levis-Trow (which is looking like a no-go for me) I could be a sort of tour guide so you don't miss anything if you'd like. What time are you thinking of being up there?

If the weather cooperates and I make it down I'll be riding from about 10am to noon. Maybe 9:30 to noon.

I have a friend's wedding eating up a lot of this weekend. Trying to break up the pleasantries with a asskicking ride on unfamiliar trail.

Didn't know about the downhill section. Picking up a Steelhead today with some longtravel front suspension and fat nasty tires. It'll be tempting to bring it along.

If I ever get off my butt, I'll have some pictures of the DH course up soon. What to expect if you bring the "big" bike... there are a couple of drops (4-6' in height), a weird ski (hip) jump, a couple of jumps where you can get pretty good air.... like Buck said, it's not all buffed out, and B-lines aren't 100% complete on what isn't rollable... if you have the skills/guts to do the jumps and drops I think it would be a pretty fun little trail....

Otherwise, if you bring the XC bike bring the climbing legs....

I'll be there at 9:30 on Saturday (unless an emergency comes up).

I've only ridden there once and the one time I did I think I was going the wrong way. When you come to the clearing and look for the trail to your left do you actually go across the clearing or do you enter the trail before you go across to the other side?

We rode across the clearning and found a more ski track sized trail that led us down to some singletrack. Rode that all the way till we came to the teeter and realized that the teeter totter was setup the other way and the sign was on the opposite side so we figured out we were riding in reverse.

You should go maybe 25 yards or so and duck into the woods to your left. There are actually two singletrack entrances to the ummm... singletrack. Either works. If you don't duck into the woods you've gone too far.

Please excuse my 2nd gradish artwork, and also the lame spelling... it's not to scale or anything. Yes we need signs and an updated map for the trail system. Maybe later this summer for the signs, and maybe this winter for the map.....

Have a great weekend

If anyone wants to take a stab at re-writing it, that would be cool. Modifying the map too, and supply some new pics?
