We are still in need of a handful of volunteers for the steeplechase mnscs race. We need a few people to work the water stations and racer food tent. We also need 2 people to help with parking during the early part of the day. As a perk all volunteers will get lunch on us and the oppurtunity to watch a great bike race. Also we will be needing help with course clean up after the race and if you haven't ridden at steeplechase before, bring your bike and go for a ride after the racing is done. Please let me know if anyone is interested in helping out.
I would encourage anyone who has an inkling to help out, to give this a shot. Volunteers make all the difference in pulling off an event. Help out a little during the day, watch some great racing, then ride a buffed in, sweet new course afterward!

what is the times you are thinking? I was hoping to race but I may reconsider if a ride in the next day or two makes me doubt my fitness.

You could work as long or as little as you want. Any help would be appreciated. Of course I don't want to discourage you from racing just so that you can volunteer help. The course will be awesome.

I may be able to help out, don't know yet. I do plan on racing at this point though. I'll let you know.

I'll be able to help out. Let me know if you still need help. Whenever is fine, I proly won't race, just pre-ride if that's ok.

I just got back into town this morning so I will have to get a hold of our race director to see where we need help still. I will let you know by this afternoon. Thanks for the help.

I just wanted to thank all of the volunteers one more time. We had a great crew and they really helped us pull the event off. Also if anyone who was there has any suggestions for how we might make next year better or run smoother please list them. Don't worry about hurting my feelings as I have a long list of things I would change as well. So anyway feedback would be great. Thanks again.

I enjoyed the course. Thanks everyone! I think the general feel was great. It has it's own little charm different than other venue's. Keep it. Prolouge was perfect. The laps we're > 20 minutes but they flew by.... That's a sign of how fun it was....
Obvious fixes include trail armouring (so trail doesn't fall away). Maybe better course marking (my son shorted the citizen course), maybe volunteers on course at these tricky intersections, was the kids comp a little long or was it just too much for my little 6 year old (the ladder I'm sure). Pot o potties needed. The multiple tables for sign in seemed odd, but no big deal.
Overall the course was laid out great. Prolouge was great. Kids races we're awesome and well run too. Food was a good thing. Start line was wide and gave a clean start too. Other than new trail errosion issues the sand, grass and other natural features are keepers. ..end..

From the parking side of things, radios would be good for communication of open spots. We also thought about using one person on a bike to guide people to open spots when full. Other than that it was great.
