I have a Fox Float R that needs to be serviced. I have serviced lots of snowmobile shocks and would like to service my bike shock also. Does anyone know what the specs for this shock are (nitrogen psi, oil wt., floating piston height)?

Thanks

Here's a link to the Fox Tech center.

Looks like they have service manuals as downloadable PDF's

In the past Fox has been stingy about giving out IFP heights and nitrogen chamber pressure. The new stuff is un servicable for the most part. They roll crimp the damping chamber shut. All you can usually service is the air canister and it's seals. There is a video on their website that shows you how.

If you like tinkering, buy the seal kit and DIY...not difficult. Otherwise, a reputable shop shouldn't charge you more than 30min labor for service + < $15 for the seal kit.

As Pete mentioned, the guts are largely sealed. If there is a certain type of performance you're looking for you might want to drop a note to www.pushindustries.com - the most prominent aftermarket tuner of Fox dampers.

I had my shock "Pushed". Huge difference and worth every penny.
