It might be a good idea to get a mail list group of frequent helpers and use it in addition to forum postings since I (and I assume others) don't check the MORC list nearly as often as e-mail.

Also, I have to thread-jack and send a congrats to Isaac for his 3rd place on Saturday's Citizen race. You can longer get anyone to believe that you aren't fast on that SS

Great idea Larry. I'll start a new thread later today when I'm home from the dentist (ugh... a cavity!). We have been having impromptu and goofy scheduled little sessions up on the bluff, so emailing some locals/sorta locals/etc. might be a better way of getting the word out in a fashion that people will know what is going on. We might even be able to turn this list into a slightly organized attempt at a club/group etc.

On the thread-jack... thanks Larry. Talk about shocked. I assumed that I would get killed by a bunch of racers that should have been in sport. If there was one more lap I wouldn't have been able to keep up that pace though, talk about hitting a wall.

Congrats to you Larry for the top 25 finish! Good work. And your kid did awesome too in the kid's comp! How did he like the course? I'm going to get with Gus and see what he has planned for Red Wing's kid's comp course. It's his deal, but maybe having your guy ride it while we're figuring out the course would be a good idea. Just a thought.

Have a great day!
Isaac

Thanks. It was quite frustrating to spend so much time behind slower riders, but I guess working on my agression is part of becoming a better racer.

Marcus did better than he or I expected despite 2 spills. He thought it was far too short. We rode the "back 40" that they didn't do after the expert race and in hind-sight I think their race shouldve included that section. I imagine it was quite tough for the organizers to know just how well the kids would do with the extra miles. Other than that it was a perfect course for the kids comp, nothing that would cause broken bones for young bike handlers, but plenty of challenge. Big praise to the MORC organisers for coming up with Kids comp. A FANTASTIC idea for riders like Marcus and a good way to get started.
I have always thought that when deciding what should and should not be included for kids comp or citizen, I would always shy from really tough decents or places where falls would break bones, but NOT shy away from a few hard climbs. It makes for a good sort and inexperienced riders can always walk without causing problems for other riders.

not that it would be feasible but let's just turn them loose on the ski trail and and a JR Downhill. Sorry I couldn't make it, the lady friend gave me that poutie face and wanted to spend "quality time" sometimes you have to compromise to keep peace in the world.
