yes I agree...but there were 6 of them and 1 of me...what was I to do? I didn't have a camera... they were such wanks that they rode right over the fence right in front of me...lame lame lame...

So a guy here suggested that we need to get a park dept. person out there the day that the trails are closed...I really think the only way that people aren't going to ride the wet trails is to give them tickets for riding the wet trails...if you got a ticket for $100 you wouldn't ride the wet trails again... Anyone know what this would cost?

Also...I have a dog and at local TC dog parks people have to pay a yearly fee to use the off-leash parks...why doesn't MORC and the Park's department do a monthly or yearly fee to use the trails...then this would pay for more tools, pay the park dept to patrol out there and in general make people respect the trails more...

thoughts?

I'm sorry I was typing the exact same thing only long winded about ticketing, only I put it in the general discussion to apply to all trails at following:
http://www.morcmtb.org/forums/showthread.php?t=16875

I apologize, like I said I was typing it and saw this after I posted it, didn't mean to have two threads on same thing at once.

WTF? The MPRB wanted a picture of the motorcycle plate I took at Wirth. They contacted the driver via the park police, I think.

Bill and others,

MORC advocates riding the trails in a responsible manner, following the rules of the trail (including open/closed), and education of riders and other concerned parties. Posting license plates does not accomplish any of those things.

MORC does not endorse the position of calling out potential offenders publicly.

Hey all,

MORC has decided that this issue has too much of a potential to blow up in our face, I think our angst has gotten the best of us - so it's time to just cool it.

I don't think anyone is going to remove a picture posted of someone riding a wheelie over an orange fence, but short of that - it's just too grey.

The MORC board is going to ramp up their efforts to educate, provide for similar closure structures at the trail heads, and revamp the tech system for posting current trail open/close status.

As I said on the other thread, John Lundell and I were looking at this thing as something we could do light-heartedly, and I think that a lot of good discussion has come out of promoting the "post a pic" idea on that thread, but it's best we just move on.

So let's work on making things better and not put MORC in the middle. There's too much good will on the line with those who do support us to waste it on those few who don't.

My 2¢ ... go ride!
