Hey all!

Currently I'm in Fort Collins, CO. I race DH for CSU Rams Cycling and am moving back to the cities. Lookin for training for the fall season, rides and such. Wheres the best DH in the metro area, if any. And what is the situation at spirit/lutsen?

We got our DH trail up at spirit last summer. It's really fun to ride. Talk to Buck, he knows alot more about the spirit situation than I do.

DH in Minnesota.... well.... (that almost sounds like a joke, ha ha) It's like saying, "Where's the best place to go snowboarding in Egypt?"

There isn't much. I would say your best bet for "training" is to just do some freeriding. It's tough to find a place that is actually decent and efficient to make DH runs. Lutsen is pretty fun, but not that technical. It's pretty much wide open, haul'n balls, down fire roads.

It seems like a lot of mtb guys have problems being smooth. I'd say get out and do some dirt jumping with some BMX guys. Dirt Jumping is all about picking lines and being smooth. That converts well to speed on the course.

Hope to see you out riding.

if you are going to drive all the way up to lutsen you might want to check this out. http://www.superiorbikefest.com/ they've got DH and the dirve is 5 more hours from duluth (not bad for a weekend of drinking and riding), youll have the best time of your life.
