Anybody up for a Theo Time Trial? :)

We've been talking about the details but I wanted to see what people thought of for a date. We'd like to do sometime in July and I want this to conflict the least with other races and events, so those of you in the know please chime in. 4th of July weekend is obviously out (or is it?) and July 15-16 won't work as I'll be out of town on business then. And the Lebanon TT is the 22nd with a rain date of the 29th, so that pretty much leaves the 8th or 9th!

We want the TTT to be structured more-or-less like the Lebanon TT: riders 30 seconds apart and three laps around the "A" loop (8.22 miles total). I had thought of doing a relay, too (TTTT), but this being the first race on the new trail we should keep it simple and limited to one event.

Also, as it's such a tight trail and passing space is so limited, we'll probably have a qualifying sprint for starting positions around the short "B" loop starting and stopping at the kiosk at 55 and Wirth Parkway. We'll start the riders fastest first to limit potential passing. Any passing that does occur will involve the overtaking rider yelling "Pass!" and the slower rider moving over. Even though the course is tight there are plenty of places to pull over to allow someone by.

So, I'll leave this thread open now for the rest of ya to chime in!

Another thought on the date:

Maybe do it the 29th with a rain date of Aug. 5? That way you'd have the LTT one weekend followed up by the TTT the next.

July 29th is PERFECT. How about a rain date of August 12?
3 laps will make for many passing opportunities. Whether safe passes can be made is a different story. Should be interesting.

How many riders turn out for the Leb TT? How many do you expect for the TTT?

Depending on the results of the Spring Cup, a late season TT has also been discussed for Salem Hills.

Sept time frame probably.

I believe it's about 150 or so riders at the LTT. I'd expect about as much for the TTT.

I think the plan for the Leb TT is to do it on July 22nd with July 29th being a rain date.

Yeah, I realize that. Hmm ... move it to Aug 5 with rain date of the 12? We don't want to push it too late and Theo gets pretty dry in late July.

Maybe stick with the July 8 date? We'd be past the increasingly common June monsoon season by then but not dry and dusty yet.

So we're planning this around your schedule then? How selfish...

Everyone should plan their lives around me if they know what's good for 'em.

We discussed the TTT at the last board meeting.

It's going to be limited to 75-100 riders so that we can pull it off in a timely manner, invites will be sent out to anyone that has done trail work (we have your names - you'll be getting notice). If there are still slots open after that entry will be opened up to the general public.

And yes, you can still come out and get on the list - just show up for trail work to qualify.

Expect a September date.
