We'll be working to finish clearing out the new trail just like last week. Meet in the parking lot - don't forget your gloves, we'll provide the tools.

Digging on the new trail starts early May, so it would be good to get a lot of people out to help finish clearing.

Don't worry if you have to arrive late or leave early...

I'll be there. My girlfriend wants to come out and try playing in the dirt this week, so I probably won't be on the motorcycle this week and will be less afraid of rain.

I just got word that the machines will be out building the new trail around the May 2. This means we have to be sure to clear the trail off completely this Tuesday.

We had a good showing last week. I hope we can get as many people out this time as we still have a lot of work to do. If we can get things completely cleared up for the machine(s) to come in we will be in good shape.

There are a few small hand-build sections along this trail as well, so time permitting we can get a head start on these.

Hope to see people out there!

I'm not sure I can make it tomorrow night, but I was curious did anyone have a problem with me bringing my dog last week - trust me I will not be offended in any way if I was asked not to bring her. I also realized now (yeah 6 days later) that having her unleashed is probably unlawful, not sure in Leb so if that is at all a problem let me know I can also leash her or leave her at home whichever neither offends me at all. I try and get her out just so she can get a walk in too but think I am gonna start taking her to Salem and see how she is running while I ride and I know it's legal to have her unleashed there. Besides I think they need the help on trialwork up there possibly too.

Word is that Ted might have the post-ride snacks this time around.

We will have some MORC t-shirts available as well... we're just low on size XL at this time, but we might have a few available. I think we're ordering more XLs soon.

Dogs on the trail and trailwork - Dogs are not allowed on the trail since even the best trained dog is unpredictable. You just never know which way it is going to go. I like dogs, and have two of them, but the trail is just not a good place for them to play.

Dogs are also a bad idea for trailwork. I would just hate to see your dog get hurt when he jumps in front of someone swinging a pulaski. With that many people around, it is easy for the dog to get excited and chase a stick someone threw off the trail right into harms way. It is just too big of a risk that something might happen to Fido.

...and don't wear shorts. Trust me.

I may or may not make it this week. Anniversary week and I have to spend time with my bride, since Sunday's the Iron Man and all.

I plan to be there -- in work clothes (no tie) this time. I'll throw the brush hook and polaski onto the grinder tonight. Just can't wait to start swinging sharp tools and taking out tropical rainforests.

I also like to run with scissors.

Someone has to pick up the slack now that Torey isn't a regular... ;)

Do you think I could get a heads up when they are going to be bringing the machines in to work? I was intersted in taking some photographs of the machines cutting trail.

I'll post up something once I know the exact time. I believe that one will be out on the 2nd during trailwork night. Dale plans on working with one machine that week for sure.

What a great day for trail work! Hope everyone can make it out. The more I think about it the more I think we might have time to work on a couple of pretty cool obstacles... depends on how many people show up.

C ya there!

Sorry for the wood chips flying and breaking Bob's handle. It was good to get more done tonight. I hope my schedule keeps this way so I can make it out every week.

Can't wait to see the pictures.

It was good meeting you . No problem about the polaski handle. I'll just slip another one on. I was surprised that you were able to hack through the log.

Good progress tonight. I think that section is ready for the Dingo.

Hey all...I had a great time doing trail work today. I'm trying to get the pixs from my cell phone to load onto my computer so I can post them.

Thanks everyone for showing up! I'm very pleased with the group we have showing up this year and hope more people can come out and join us.

We got the first re-route trail completely cleared and ready for machine work. We even got started on a cool new log mountain (not pile)... could be the biggest in MN when we are done ;)

I'll post the pics I took as soon as I can.

Gabe - you are a madman with the axe! Great work picking up the pace after the chainsaw crapped out.

Here is Bob filling in for a log on our new Log Mountain ride... currently in progress at Lebanon Hills. Check out the gallery for more photos of this weeks work session.

This will be one cool log ride when done...
