View Full Version : Battle Creek is getting close. . .

. . . to perfect.

Just got back from a little lunch recon' and found that most of the trails are looking really dry. The portion of the park west of Battle Creek Road is good to go. The east side near the community center still has some very damp and soft sections.

Providing we don't get hammered with too much rain the entire park should be set for riding by next week, possibly the weekend if we don't get any rain. Keep your fingers crossed and please stay off, if it is damp.

BC is at 80% for total dryness. The worst part is from the rec center to the XC ski trails. Down in fern gully there are three big trees down across the trail, so be alert. The west side of BC is in great shape (this is the area by hwy. 61) I've been out their the past two days and it only keeps getting better. But if we do get a good amount of rain, please stay off for a couple of days and let the trail dry out a bit. Hope to see some of you out their.

I was out for a road ride yesterday and took a detour to check out BC and it is looking pretty good. I was also looking to see if anyone was riding it. I didn't see anyone but saw a few tracks. Just thought I would stop by and make sure nobody was riding it.

Battle Creek isn't open yet?

I thought it was. I rode the area between Hwy 61 & Battle Creek Rd, and it was very dry. A few ruts due to errosion. And, the last hill down to PT Douglas Rd the shrubs are into the trail.

Just thought I would stop by and make sure nobody was riding it.

Went there, and that was what I thought. I thought it was open. Certainly was dry enough to be open. But, then reading Mo-Tay's note, seemed to say it wasn't open. Just wanted to verify.

I just thought that it wasn't open yet. Stupid me, I could have been MTB'in!
