Just out of curiosity, is there anything happening with the proposed trail system at the Guard Armory land adjacent to Lexington Ave. in Arden Hills? I had heard something about a proposed trail there.
Any meetings we can attend, scheduled trail work, etc?
Maybe it should be added under the Twin Cities Metro trails section if so.

There is a update article about it in the upcoming MORC newsletter - says they are still working out the details. Don Youngdahl can give you all of the answers.

Trails in Arden Hills depend on the U.S. Army completing their master plan for turning the land over to the National Guard. Progress on that plan has been dead in the water for about 2 years now, and I don't expect anything to happen soon, given the current problems the army has.
You occasionally read in the papers about site development, hazardous and nuclear waste cleanup, etc. These issues pertain to the western portion of the arsenal property, not the area that the National Guard uses, which is where the trails would be located.
Several years ago, when I mentioned to Ahvo Taipale, the X-C ski guru, the possibility of X-C ski trails in the arsenal, he blew off the idea with the comment "not in our lifetime". Pehraps he was right.
