Man, I am thinking about making some platform spd shoes just to fit on a deal like this - someone out there must be tailor made for it ...

Not sure on brand.....but the pic was taken inside of Bennets/Bikemasters, and they did carry those guys.

any guesses on how much it would cost to get this built up again?

wow.....very open ended question, it would depend on what parts you have lying around, and how fancy you want to make it.

ie i just build up a frame from mostly ebay parts (xt crankset, lx wheelset, xt rear derailleur, 06 judy fork, avid single digit 5 v brakes) for ~$350 if you subtract the frame from my entire cost. of course these parts were aquired over about a year and through the winter.

want to go all new, pricepoint's cheapest build kit is $469, and pretty much is an entire bike w/o the frame fork and headset http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/14343-120_SRAX75_KIT-0-Search--/Sram-X.7-Build-Kit.htm

OR if you can swap frame's with your current ride and it is basically free (minus your time wrenching)

IMHO, this is a killer deal for this frame, they are sold new on ebay for $140 shipped. If the frame was smaller i would be all over it, so who ever grabs this is getting a good deal

I was looking for a basic ballpark figure which is pretty much what you gave me. thanks. I am keeping my eyes open for reasonable priced bikes for a few friends that still ride huffy/walmart brand, so I was wondering if this would be a reasonable way to go.
