THAT, meaning the Cheq. 40 check? I remember it taking a little longer for them to sort through everything. Hopefully mine clears.

My team of four is in! And I say team in terms of a group of people who have a common goal. To finish!
Speaking of goals, anyone have pre-season fantasies? Top 20? Sub-5 hours?
In my dreams I will have enough time to ride to approach the 2:40 mark.

2:45.00 is my target. However, if I bonk hard on the Fire Tower hill, I may toss my bike at the top and join the party.
I hear you on the training hours. I tried setting up a training plan this winter using Joe Friel's Training Bible (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1884737714/sr=8-4/qid=1143221287/ref=pd_bbs_4/102-9422461-3373710?%5Fencoding=UTF8) but didn't realize that you need to be childfree, single and unemployed. Apart from hitting Theo, Leb, Battle Creek, Murphy, etc, does anyone know of a decent training plan for someone who has 6-8 hours/week max. to ride? How about some areas around town with killer hills (even paved)?

Did you send all the entries in one envelope? or did you just get lucky by having all four get in on their own?
My check cashed too however I'm just doing the SHort & Fat.

4 in one specially designed and marked envelope. Don't ask - Top Secret stuff here.

Joe Friels Training Bible & 6-8 hrs/week.
If you are in possession of those things and understand what you need to do, you are in reach of your goal. Make a plan and stick to it. Divide that time between pavement & dirt. Longer road rides will provide you the endurance you need.

Thanks for the kick in the ass I needed. I'll just shorten up the plan I made this winter and hit the roads/trails.

Last year I tracked every ride in a spreadsheet, again. This year Joel's bible confirms what I did was right. The bible looks fab, I've read it 4 times over this year. Sweet compilation of information. I reccomend it to any competitor. See you out there!!
Joel, got your pm. Live so close to you it's scary. I'll reply to your pm later. Let's ride. I already have a good base but any ride day is a good day.
Not doing that race this year cause I'm soooo done with it.
My wife's check was cashed, we sent her form in Mar14th with two others in envelope.

Igor's check was cashed and I was in the same envelope, so I must be in the Short and Fat this year. Hopefully I'm a little less fat this year!

Kenwood Neighborhood which is apart of the Walker Art Center proximity. These hills can be accessed via the Cedar Lake trail where it crosses under 394. Another good route is Summit Ave thru St. Paul to the Smith Bridge and the hills that branch off nearby such as the ones near the town of Mendota and others.
I'll just shorten up the plan I made this winter and hit the roads/trails.
26 weeks is plenty of time to lay down a rock solid plan. Stick to it, and you will have no regrets. High bling, high $$ gear has nothing on a good training plan. I have piloted a very humbly built steel hard-tail to personal bests the last couple years because of dedication to good training plan.
Tick-tock, tick-tock... you can't buy it, but you can earn it...

Thanks for the ride ideas. I've included Kenwood on my rides before, but I think I'll spend some extra time there this summer (especially the hill directly behind the Guthrie).

I looked at my training schedule last night and realized it was originally set up for the Cable Classic. I shifted it for the Fat 40 and all is well.

I live at the top of the hill on Smith, literally. Every direction is down from my house. There's a nice 10mi loop down Dodd then a path to the top of the yacht club, Lillydale, then up Ohio. A couple times up Ohio will get the blood flowing. You can also do laps up Ramsey Hill if you want a super challenge. That sucker is STEEEP!

Hey! I live at the top of Ohio...500 to be exact. I like to get out and loop up and down Ohio and Smith. Good intense training when you don't have much time. I have been riding a red Specialized Epic but now have a Black Ano Specialized E5 S-Works roadie that I am loving. This area is GREAT for getting on to different loops. It is also nice as you can easily bike to BC for some MTBing.

I got in last year for the first time and it was great. I guess I was just lucky that I got in the first year I registered. This year I'll be up there anyways, just riding on my own. That will be as much, if not more fun and less pressure.
