I posted a thread in general discussion yesterday, but I thought I should probably post another in here. We need MORC's assistance in building trail in Hudson/River Falls area, at the Badlands, and Hoffman/Glen parks respectively. I talked to a MORC guy at the QBP show acouple weeks ago, and got some information, but not enough. We have access to the Badlands for trailbuilding for sure as soon as the weather permits. I am not sure of the acreage but I know there is alot of hills, and the area has huge potential. Also
I think that either of the two parks listed above have great potential and both already have a good trail system in place. We just need more singletrack. There is also a trail that was started by a local cross country team North of River Falls called Whitetail Ridge. So, I need to know what it is we should do to get MORC involved, so as to get these projects underway. We have a great volunteer base, and the support of a local shop The Route.

Contacts include:
http//theroute.net (Adam Schmidt)
snowrider310@hotmail.com (myself)

I (or Adam) would appreciate a response from a MORC official on this matter.

Thanks alot to MORC and its volunteers/members.

p.s.- We want to get a Wed. night race series set up at the Badlands in the next year, so if anyone would be interested in that please reply.

What are your thoughts on some FR/DHish kind of trail going in? I'd be game to come out and walk the area with ya to give it a look see.

I replied to you other post, but I'll add it here too: I'm game for helping develop some trails in the Hudson/RF area. It's nice and close to me. :D

You can count me in for assistance if needed. Especially if MTB support doesn't work out with Afton Alps...

Badlands has potential for some "Buck" related initiatives... Not sure if XC would be doable since there are not many features/ trees... On the flipside, anything is better than what currently exists in the St. Croix Valley, which is basically nothing...

I have moved my share of dirt, and am willing to assist with scoping trails to back breaking labor...

Thanks for all of the help offers, but I need a reply from MORC more than anything. Can anyone tell me a better way to get ahold of them?

If this thing does go down, I will definitley contact all of you that are interested in trailbuilding in St. Croix/Pierce counties. We always need more trail.

Thanks again--

Well, Adam repiled, and he's on the MORC board of directors. I'd say follow up with him.

Sounds like you have some prospective trail workers. What sort of MORC help are you looking for?

Nick,
I didn't see your post until today. Shoot me an email at president@morcmtb.org or call me at 612-308-4056 and we can start the conversation.

Thanks!

I recently found out that the trail near the Kinnickinnick River (Glen Park) is buildable. It is school forest. I have permission to add as much trail to the existing 2.5 mile loop as I want, there is also a bunch of ski trails down there too. I will keep the invitation open for trailbuilders in the area who want to build sweet singletrack. I put in a full day last Sunday by myself and finished about 100 ft. of perfectly buffed singletrack.
Hopefully I will be able to set up a time for volunteers to meet on a weekend coming up. I am very busy with work now that it is Spring so I will try to fit a good day in soon. The area has alot of potential for trail, and I am excited.
