You don't see a link above, but we do have a great new classifieds section available here online.. somewhat eBay style. Click here (http://www.morcmtb.org/classifieds/) for a great way to sell your gear!

Bump... for those who aren't aware that there is a better way to sell online by using the online classifieds.

It seems that a lot of people post photos in the gallery, then create for sale threads and link to the photos.
Do people find this easier than using the online classifieds?
Reason I ask is that we can remove the classifieds area if it isn't going to be used. I think its a really great feature, but I realize posting threads can get more visibility.
Also... if people have sold things in the past, please remove the photos of those items from your member gallery if you could. The space isn't really an issue.. but those pics sometimes come up in random photo areas... its not quite as interesting looking at a picture of an old hub ;)
FS Threads show up in your new posts filter, classified's don't. Move visible to everyone.

I'd say 95 percent of my time spent on morc is done clicking the "New Posts" link in the forums. If the classifies section showed new additions at the same time, like Pete was saying, I'd definately check them out. Otherwise I guess I only look in there when I'm trying to find something specific.

I totally agree. I always make a for sale thread and then direct it to the classifieds.

I'm working with the developer to try get new gallery images and new classified additions added to the "new posts" option. We'll see.
In other news, I had no idea that the classifieds was limiting the photo size so bad. (Thanks Pete for pointing this out!) I set it to allow for much larger "supersize" pictures. It was treating the medium and large as the same, which was very limiting.
Hopefully that will help a little...
