Sunday 1/15 10am River Bottoms

The Leb crew is going to try something different to demonstrate how well rounded and open minded we are. We will meet at the Lyndale ave lot at 10am.

Very progressive! How much time would one plan to allow to complete the ride from parking lot to parking lot?

If things work out, I would like to try and make it down there to ride with you trailists (defined as "discrimination or prejudice based on trail preference").

It really isn't discrimination or prejudice when our trails are actually better.;)

Was that my outside voice, damn.

That's right. There will be a sighting of the JL at the river bottoms. You won't believe it, but today he was seen riding a Surly Single-Speed with sweet looking 2.7 inch home-studded tires! That sight made me fall right off of my bike. (well, that and the stupid Leb CamelBack)

Doug, remember that your new years resolution was to start riding again. Here's your chance.

I ended up chickening out... had to drag a European delegation around town again last night. Ended up wasting time trying to find a good place in St. Paul. Man is the MN Music Cafe a dive.

Anyway, I am up for the next RB ride tho...

John,

You should have gone to Great Waters for dinner then downstairs to The Artist's Quarter for music and drinks.

Come on, you used to work almost right there, you should know better.

or you could have gone down to LoTo or Liffy.

how did you end up at the MNMusic Cafe?!??!? Ack.

John,

how did you end up at the MNMusic Cafe?!??!? Ack.

We were at Greatwaters... then thats where it all fell apart. A co-worker had suggested we join her at the music cafe. Now I've had my fill of 40+ year olds trying to look like 20 year olds for the year.

Next time we're going back to Minni... I prefer the 20 year olds trying to act worldly crowd ;)

So how was the ride guys?

Ok JL that's discrimination & I resemble that remark. I'll B 40 in March. Since I'm so fine & a good drinker I always act 20. Get back to the LH thread!

The ride was fun. Studs required I'd have to say. All packed or ice. We went east of Lyndale to Cedar then in the woods up & around on way back. Saw lots of folks. I went surfing on a muddy down hill, ha ha. My project bike only had a front brake today, I should have rode it instead of walking off the hump (I mean surfing.) Love that tree!

You missed a fun ride. Some each snow/ice/dirt. Everything was fast, but studs were necessary.

There was no way to cross 9-mile creek, so we rode the east lower swamp to Cedar and back, then did the upper hilly part. We met a lot of other bikers on the trail.

schlepping bike parts is a pretty concise and accurate description of my riding style.
