We have bikes you have owned, now what types of riding have you done or still do?

I started doing BMX in 1980. Raced from 1980 until 1999.
I started doing BMX freestyle in 1982. I still do that from time to time. Now it's skatepark, street, dirtjumping or whatever.
BMX street riding became super huge in 1990, so I got way into that. I shredded downtown and the U of M 5 or so nights a week for most of the 90's with friends from TC BMX and some of the professional teams and riders in our area.
I learned to ride a unicycle in 1997, but then never owned one and never did it again.
My first MTB experience was in 1987 and I didn't like it. I had a bike that felt like a road bike, and I was trying to get RAD on it. In 1987, we got RAD on stuff.....:).
I started racing MTBs in 1994 and still do some races when I feel like it.
I got my first trials bike in 1988 and have played around with that ever since. But I never got super serious about it.

In 2003, I got my first freeride bike, my P.2 and started doing that. Not sure if you can say started. I converted my Mid 90's Kona into a freeride type bike and did dual slalom, some downhill, and jumped it some. Parts were not too strong then....so I was a bit scared.

Now I still ride my BMX bike at the skatepark and around town from time to time. I ride singlespeed XC, and I do freeride with either my BigHit or P.2. I would like to do more trials, I do own a Mod bike, but it just seems I don't have time for it. I like to build trails now.......which is great, but takes a lot of time.

Everything as a kid...
One bike (Schwinn stingray) was my road, mountain, BMX, etc. bike.

Then road/commuter on a Schwinn mid range road bike for a while.
No driver's license makes you learn to get around anyway you can!

Then a big break in my cycling. Motorcyles were waaaaay to important at the time.

Mountain biking thanks to the old Summit Bike Shop in Eagan, especially Scott Hebel (now with Erik's in Burnsville).

Mountain bike racing, thanks to Gary Sjoquist, a fellow motorcycle roadracer. Cheaper racing, but I've hurt myself even more on a mountain bike.

"Real" Road Biking after a short stint working at Now Sports.

A short jump into BMX.
My son started racing and I figured, "As long as I have to be here anyway..." Unfortunately, he lost interest after watching me pile drive myself into the face of a jump. Probably a little to much to handle as a 5 or 6 year old.

And finally, a tandem my wife and I have owned for a little over a year.
Fun, and no complaining about waiting or going too fast.

If it has two wheels, I'm probably interested!

Vicious cycles. Many of them out of control and coming around again soon. Why must I be such a victim of my own arrogance?
