Anyone want to do a group ride Tuesday night?

Leb?

Is Harmon in good condition to ride? (not just foot traffic?)

I may not be able to do Thursday so would like to get a ride in...

I have ski class, so I can't make it. It's supposed to be 40 tomorrow. Not sure you will be able to do any off-road when it will be that warm.

Wow, I hadn't seen the updated forecast. Yuk. Might nto be too good all week long actually. Maybe I ought to get out there today.

Lets not count on a ride Tuesday. Maybe a hike?

I'm tentitive on Tuesday for stomp. I'll watch the board.

Good thing about this week is it will freeze each night. If the ground stays frozen it won't be to bad....perhaps we shoe the last warm afternoon...maybe Saturday.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make any rides or stomps until possibly Friday. :cryin:

Now I may not be able to do so either... or if I do it will be last minute.

Maybe a hike?

When you are hiking the trail is it snowshoe or boots or both? Just wondering since I dont' have snowshoe's but might starting hiking the trail. Also are dogs allowed in leb (leashed w/cleanup essentials)? I guess I'm asking cause I live so close to there and would go hike it but not sure if boot foot prints would create holes that would freeze and make it hard to ride and same with dog prints?

You can wear whatever you'd like. In this kind of condition, hiking boots will be better. If the snow gets deep, you might want snowshoes.

I don't know what the official policy is, but I don't think it would be a problem to bring a leashed dog along.

Note that in the summer, the bike trails are for bikes only, and not for hiking. I think the bike trail is officially open for snowshoes in the winter, but a good stomp with hiking boots helps pack the snow. Sleds with toddlers aboard for weight are also encouraged.

.

In wintertime this is no issue, but please clean up any presents your dog might leave on the trail... we're already seeing dog owners who aren't taking responsibility for this.

If you head out tonight just make sure that you are not leaving deep shoe prints.

I am up in the air on whether I can make it out tonight as well.

Agree, don't boot it if deep prints are left behind. Maybe walk around warmer sections. Especially if the ground isn't frozen, a boot hole will create an isolated issue. One punch by a boot can expose dirt or water equivilant sooner, bottom line cause a deeper hole and growing issue longer term. If boot'n it try not to leave stair steps, holes & slide outs.

I'm un-likely avail tonight. The gals are going roller skating so it's un-likely I'll drag the boys out on a School night.

Bob, I wonder if the next group effort we pull you in the sled. How many grunts would it take? Think of the packed trail though....!! :D

This is exactly what I was wondering about and want to avoid.
thanks for the info

Did anyone go out last night? If so, what were conditions?

I'll be up for something either Friday night or this weekend.

I went out but was the only one there. I did not ride since my wife would kill me if I was out riding the trails at night, in the winter, alone. Conditions should have been perfect.
