Since it will be warmer Wed. I thought I'd post up to see if we can get a group willing to go out and help flatten the trail with a good hike. If we hit it good I think we can start riding again when it cools later in the week.
Bring whatever you want - the larger group the better. It would be good if we could do the XX so we can keep riding it this winter.
Please come out and help if you can...

I'm tentitive. Should be a good session if course is left alone to bake (heat wave today). The rain turned it into light & fluffy moldable frosting. where is that kitty cat snow mobile when you need it??
By the way the tree John was climbing has been removed. I'm sure you'awl know but just n case.

Yup, Ted and I removed it at our last stomp session.
Another thing we learned - you can't back up quickly with snowshoes on! That was pretty funny when the tree started to come down and I tried to run backwards...

Sure, pick the night I'm heading out of town :p .
I ran into Shad, Mara and Will Holway at Theo Sunday. I was watching them fall a lot going downhill on their XC skis while I was carving up turns in the powder on my XC skis :).

For the record, I was the only one doing spectacular falling -- don't give those two credit for my cartwheels. :eyeroll:
I am also leaving town Thursday morning. Bummer. Stomping is fun. I never, ever make dinosaur noises in my head while I'm snowshoeing. Never.

Where "up north" are you going?
I'll be at Giants Ridge over the weekend. I'll prolly XC in the mornings, then switch to downhill for the afternoons.

Is this still happening?
If so, what's the plan - Ride or Hike?

Oh yea... its still happening. I'd say we could ride tonight. We had it packed down and its been under 32 for a while.
I'll bring the hiking shoes just in case, but I'm thinking riding will be the best its been for a while now.

If I wasn't fighting a cold I caught on a 50 mile asphalt ride last week in Omaha, I would be there tonight. The Cross bike is fun and all, but I want to break in the new Sidi Shoes on the Mountain bike on dirt!
Have fun tonight guy's
I will probably hold a Harmon ride next Tuesday depending on conditions.

I'm out. My wife had the calendar reserved first. I tried every sitter and option out there! Too bad I'll miss the reward for all the work recently done.
Post up or send me a line with results. I'm prob. going in the am.
Have Fun!! Do the XX.

Hope you enjoy. Doesn't taste like it, but there is quite a bit of pear brandy in there. Should keep you guys warm!

The trail was actually in decent shape. Unfortunately, my steering skill wasn't good enough to stay on the packed portion. Now, I'm beginning to realize why I have trouble riding skinnys.
Liz, the cider was great!
