I just read on the MNSCS website that Harmon Park will host the kick-off event for the 2006 series. I did not know this location could host 400+ racers. Great news! I will FOR SURE participate!

Forgive us for not mentioning this earlier. We have been working on this for some time - minor details were being worked out, like parking etc. I believe its all worked out now and is a done deal. What a great event this will be!

Sweet! Spring Cup '06 complete with a Criss Cross CRASH! (I always wanted one of those when I was a kid) section where the north and south loops meet up.

I am out of the loop, but I assume this means no Spring Cup at Buck?

Yep. Buck Hill will not have anymore MTBing from what I understand. Penn is no longer having their series and the Spring Cup is gone. I guess they have some land sale deal going on.....or something.

Oh yeahhhh, now I remember. Thanks for the refresher course!

So, will a weekly series be happening at another location to be determined? What does the rumor mill say? I am actually hoping to race a little this year.

The rumor mill has it that race sites are being investigated, but nothing has been locked down.

I don't know what Penn Cycle plans to do. A lot of people liked their weekly race series and it's a bummer it's gone. Hopefully someone will pull something off.

I had one of those when I was a kid. It was really cool for an hour or two! :)

The fun part, actually, wasn't the intersection and watching cars crash but winding up the little car accelerator. It was two round, rubber wheels that pushed on each side of the car as it went through that section.

I think eventually they became battery powered but mine was manually operated with a decent amount of centrifugal force resisting you. The result of which is you'd play Criss Cross Crash! to the tune of "wirrr-WIRRR-wirrr-WIRRR-wirrr- WIRRR!" The challenge became holding that part of the track steady while you cranked.

Can we work something like this into the design?

If only they'd let me be a trail designer, I tell ya ...
