View Full Version : Current Theo Condition? Night Ride?

Has anyone been to Theo recently? I'm hoping for a night ride this evening, but want to hold off on the effort of loading up and driving over until I know it's actually rideable.
If it is, anyone in for a 6pm ride?
If it isn't, anyone in for an urban snowbank assault?
I haven't been there on a bike in a while, but if it is anything like Lebanon, you may want to gather a bunch of people to snowshoe or hike the trail before you ride. ( possibly Thursday evening, for example ;) ) With a little packing down and the melt / refreeze cycle predicted, we could get the trail into perfect winter riding condition.
Even though Scott and all the rest of the Theo frequenters don't need to hear it, I have to throw in the obligatory "Please make sure the ground is still fully frozen before you ride." You know this. I know you know this. I say it anyway. I do, however, feel strangely like my mother.

Hey, if you are around Thursday evening, maybe that's a good day to stomp the trails.....:) Seems like the Leb crowd changed to Wednesday this week, during the MOCA board meeting......:p

I'll optimistically head over to Theo tonight to check it out. If it's too loose I'll go ride the U and put my helmet to use.
I'll post the conditions either way. If a Thursday snowshoe party convenes, I'll try to make it. I do have a pair, and should probably be using them to do my part in making the world a better place.

I just got some, so I am anxious to put them to use.....:)
Thanks for going out and getting us an update.

I posted conditions in the theo detailed trail conditions page. It's probally ride-able as is, however, I agree with the melt freeze comments. Riding now would churn it up, as would riding at 30 degrees or higher Thurs./fri. day.

I didn't see your trail conditions post as it wasn't showing up as new. Maybe a new software issue? Now that I've read it, I'm in agreement.
I'll try riding Theo tonight, and leave to ride elsewhere if my tires break up the pack instead of staying on top.
If it's packed like the trails (made by boots, dogs, and skis) through the park and golf course near my house , then it'll be rideable without doing damage but really rough. I was wondering yesterday if I really should have gone rigid for Winter.

Same with me! Trail Conditions did not show a new post.
I may leave right now and give it a go before the big grade school band concert tonight. Anyone else have trouble finding time to get out and do anything active other than drinking and eating at this time of the year? Sheesshhhhh!

See my report in trail conditions. Make sure you have kleenex nearby, 'cause it's a sob story.
