A few of us were thinking about hiking around Lebanon to take care of a few outstanding fixes, downed trees etc.

We would meet in the lot around noon and hike out shortly after.

This is a tentative event - please check back to this thread even up to the day of for more info. The weather is crazy out and if it stays frozen through Sat. it might not be good working conditions.

We'd likely try fix and inspect the camelback, possibly do some rock fixes if the soil isn't frozen over... take care of any tress that are down or hanging low accross the trail etc.

Stay tuned for more info....

I'll also be there.

I'll bring a chainsaw, but don't think we will need it. The tree down in the XX can be got with a bow saw (which I will also bring).

Bump.

Don't let cabin fever get you down. Here's your chance to go outside and play with sharp tools.

Noon today at scenic Lebanon Hills.

Should be a good day to walk around the trails and take care of various small issues. Hope to see people out there... might be our last 40 degree temps for a while?

Was a good trailwork session. Felt good to be out there getting some things fixed up.

We took care of some trees, repaired trail, repaired a few log piles, and even spent a good long time in the expert loop putting back some of the challenge in the rock garden.

You'll love the changes to the rock garden. There is more than just one line now. You can snake through it making wider curves, or find a few different lines straight through. There is even a new route just to the right between two trees when you get toward the end - if you are good its a fun line to take. We hope to add even more rocks in the spring but this at least brought back some challenge... there had been one easy line forming through that area that needed fixing for a long time.

Thanks guys for coming out...

It was good to be there, considering my "quality time" alternative, hanging curtains.

We got a ton (no pun intended) of work done -- especially considering the decision to go in without the chainsaw or rock bar. I'm still pretty sore.

The spruce-up of the X rock garden will likely take its toll on a few unsuspecting riders. If you had a favorite line, it is probably gone now. Ted and Greg made sure of that. John's new zig-zag route looks interesting, plus you get to add some more mileage to your ride.

The pesky tree that was down in the XX, plus one of its neighbors, are now part of the log pile following the T-Log. It is an easy roll-over, but it now looks more like a crossing rather than just a pile of mulch.

Finally, we did some draining and filling of the mud pit early in the X section. That is the worst part of the trail for damp conditions. Maybe next season we can look into a reroute or consider Ted's ultra-sanzzy bermed-boardwalk idea.

Thanks for coming out, everyone.

Yup, the rock garden work started with everybody showing the lines they take. Then we happily hosed up each others lines. :D It was great fun.
