Does "prize pack" mean crap I want to get out of my basement that I couldn't sell/give away on Craigslist? :)

Having worked in the bike biz for the last ten years I've accumulated a fair amount of promo and odds and ends. It's all bike related, some stuff that's usefull and some stuff that's just downright odd :D. I put a box of stuff together last night. Maybe I'll take a picture of the stuff to post after the winner has received it.

No worries just trying to make it easy to figure who was the first person to get them all right. I think the Fox* fork I'm giving away would get everyone try their best.

*This is a complete fabrication there will be no Fox fork given away.

Oh, and I did the Google search on Kirkpatric Macmillian this is what it said

The first modern day bicycle was made in 1839 by Kirkpatrick Macmillan, a blacksmith living in a village near Dumfries, Scotland. It was made to go 140 miles per hour in 1842.

Interesting the stuff you get on the web when searching. I found one thing that said he got a ticket for travelling too fast, another said he got the ticket for injuring a small girl. Another said he could go 8mph, another 14mph, another 140mph. Unreal. Such a wealth of "facts".

I remember having to tell a customer that brought in a positron rear derailleur that no one stocked the derailleur wire anymore, and he'd have to replace his worn out manual indexing derailler. He wasn't pleased.

What was Shimano's original system that included indexed shifting?

This system placed the detents in the derailer, which had no return spring.
Shimano's (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gloss_sa-o.html#shimano) original system of indexed shifting (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gloss_i-k.html#index). Positron placed the detents (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gloss_da-o.html#detent) in the derailer (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gloss_da-o.html#derailer), which had no return spring. Some versions of Positron used a double cable to push and pull the derailer back and forth, other versions used a solid, push-pull cable. Most other indexing systems place the detents in the control lever.

In what year and what city was Campagnolo founded?
Campagnolo´s manufacturing activities began in 1933 in a small workshop in Vicenza.

14mph or 140mph? This was a bad question and the answer I'm unsure of. I found it on some other bicycle trivia question and found another site that backed it up so I went with it. I think it was a typo.
http://library.thinkquest.org/J002670/past2.htm

The Wright Cycle Company (formerly Wright Cycle Exchange) 1893, Dayton Ohio

If you ever come across that again send them down to Gil and Bike King. I hear he has a bunch in stock. I still think Positron is the fastest shifting groupo they ever made. You could go from low to high in a split second.
