I will have to get a photo of my shop to show, but for now; This is a post from another thread that I highjacked. Anybody want to show off their shop?
Here are 2 quick ones
http://www.morcmtb.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1871&size=big&ppuser=156
http://www.morcmtb.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1872&size=big&ppuser=156
I had to build the room from scratch since, its not too big and not too small, just right for what i need. I got room outside this room for many more bikes. That table with the truing stand on it moves around too. Just need to drop some outlets and do up a ceiling and its done, but no hurry for either of those.

My workspace, I can hold 6 bikes comfortably and can handle for the most part any repair that doesn't involve reaming anything.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y248/snap1234/workshop1.jpg
Still want to get a stand mounted in the ceiling that would swing down and lock into place. Another easy way to save some space is to mount your truing stand on a board so that you can tuck it away when not using it.

It's nice cause I can work on my bike and watch movies across the room:

A bit of a fake grin there. My job doesn't give me quite that much satisfaction.

Okay, I had to take the photos from outside the shop because it is currently too much of a mess to really even get in. During the peak riding season, I tend to work on stuff, then drop everything on the floor and go.
This shot shows where I last parked my Waterford touring bike after a little touring/camping outing a week ago. A Rivendell Quickbeam is in the stand. A project Trek OCLV frame is still sitting on the floor waiting to be built up. My Phil Wood PISSOFF is "backed" into the shop.
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 bgColor=#000000 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD><TABLE class=alt1 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD align=middle>http://www.morcmtb.org/photopost/data/500/bs3.jpg (http://www.morcmtb.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1875&ppuser=348)</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
This shot shows somewhat where my tools are supposed to be hanging on the pegboard. In the foreground is my CoMotion, a Rivendell Road bike, and an old Cannondale commuter.
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 bgColor=#000000 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD><TABLE class=alt1 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD align=middle>http://www.morcmtb.org/photopost/data/500/bs2.jpg (http://www.morcmtb.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1874&ppuser=348)</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Another shot of storage. I only have room for a handful of bikes in the shop. I keep my other good Rivendell in my bedroom. There are also a couple of other bikes stored in various closets in the house, some in the garage, and some outside in "the pile of bikes" under a tarp.
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 bgColor=#000000 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD><TABLE class=alt1 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD align=middle>http://www.morcmtb.org/photopost/data/500/bs1.jpg (http://www.morcmtb.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1873&ppuser=348)</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Haha now those are the types of problems I like to hear about! I miss having lot's of spare parts around. Now adays I seem to only replace stuff when it wears out instead of when I feel like buying something new. The parts bin is all but dried up!

That's awesome! I love having top end stuff just lying around.

You need to have a beer/wrench/movie par-tay, after you the kegerator put in of course....that is sweet!

For sure! Actually the other half of the room that the theater is in has a ghetto pool table for shooting some stick as well.

It is. I've had that frame for a long time and only been ridden in one participation in the 24 Hours of Afton. I've been waiting to build it up again until I can pick up a Pace RC31 when they are available from QBP. I almost talked my wife into picking up the Pace fork in England when she was there this summer. When I get the fork, I'm going the build up a dedicated fixed gear off-roader with a disk brake on the front and no rear brake. I'll use a White Industries ENO hub like I did on my CoMotion. I'm guessing that it'll be a pretty light bike :)

Ok, slightly off topic but someone wanted to see how my theater turned out. These pics don't show it very well but here goes:

Can't see it very well.... but you get the general idea. Screen has red velvet curtain hanging behind.

2 rows of 3 seats, back row elevated.

Entry to theater - eventually will have a wet bar in the right corner. I guess to stay on topic I could do my bike maintenance in that room... ;)

Very Very Nice looking John....
Now for my little odd thought....
Where is the big sofa?!?!? Don't you and Liz ever want to watch a movie together? I thought that was the whole purpose of a "Home" Theatre... so that one could watch a movie with a SO and be a lot more "comfortable" then in a theatre?
Am I really that odd?:embarass:

Haha yeah that's correct he did have that as a side business. J&B bought out Island awhile back but not Midwest. My boss owned Campus Bikes down near the UofM campus. He was tired of retail and since Monty was selling he decided to buy him out. Now we're located near Highway 280 and 94.

of the PG variety. That said, I believe a certain form of "swing" drops down from the ceiling right behind the projector for art film viewing.

Nice compressor!
Speaking of compressors......anyone know of a really quiet one that would be fit for inside a house? I know a friend of mine who owns a frame shop has one for his bussiness that you cant even hear, but its crazy expensive! I just need something with enough capacity and power to use for cleaning purposes.

Bike parts my man, compressors work wonders after a nice degreaser soak, they are one of the most valuable tools in any bike shop, but for home use i just need a small quiet one.

Thanks. It's 4'x8' sheet of finish grade plywood. I cut it down the middle and put a few coats of spar urathane on it.
Sorry about the size of the photos. They looked good on my computer but every time I tried to upload them it said that the file was too big.

Head over to 7 corners Ace Hardware, go upstairs where they sell power tools.
Get a small oil bath compressor (rather than an oil-less). I have one of them up north and it is great. (small, quiet, fast). It has an oil dipstick and fill hole, but I have never had to add oil in almost 10 years.
Contrast that with the cheap oil-less one that I have at home, which I got from home depot. The POS makes a bunch of noise, shakes, and takes forever to get up a reasonable volume of air.

That is a limitation of the message board to keep the database size under control I believe. You can upload them into the photo gallery on this site or use something like photobucket.com and then hot link the photos in your post to get the full size.
