Welcome! You should talk to Buck. He's into the freeride scene. Ask him about steeplechase. I haven't been there but I think it's what you're looking for.:)

What up? Welcome to the boards...I am BUCK.

Anyway Steeple Chase is in South Eastern Minnesota and is closed for the rest of the year, and is mainly jumps, drops, and hips the whole way down, great flow super fun trails.

The other DH course we have here in MN is at Spirit Mtn, Duluth, MN. More tech, fast, rocky, some steep chutes, and some uber good flow.

Search either of these and you should find ample pics to wet the appitite for next season! I will be headed to Duluth this week...film festival, group ride...good stuff.

Anyway as far as Urban goes, Mankato, Cities, and Duluth have great stuff, as does stillwater. Best FREE sk8 park in the area is up in Superior up near Duluth. easily the best. Then there are a couple hush hush DJ areas, have to hook with a local to find out about those. Hopefully Afton will soon have some DH stuff (troy ;) ) for people who can't travel far or as often like myself(lucky me :D )

If you have any more questions or want to get in on some riding post on up! Glad to have ya on board!
Thanks

FYI: The new edition of the Buck-to-King's-English dictionary will be available soon... ;-)

Seriously, welcome. Other than the fact that it's really freaking cold here, you picked a great place to be if you love mountain biking. Especially DH and freeride. Many good things are happening hereabouts.

Thanks guys!

I've been looking at the pictures in the gallery place...steeplechase looks really nice, i am not sure how to get there though...but i'll figr it out;)

I was wondering...Why isnt there a NorthShore type trail in Minneapolis or the surronding area?

I would think that something with ladders, drops and skinnys would be appropriate for MN...we have forests, fallen trees, wood ect. to build these things in...any sorta North Shore trail dosent need to have a certain gradient, all we need is wood, nails, tools and some workers!

Actually the most important thing that you missed is "permission of the land manager", which is the biggest challenge for any kind of trail, but you are in the right place to find out about that too.
