Appearantly someone built a skinny at the end of the rock downhill in the South loop. It has been torn down, for many reasons.

First, this was not an authorized build and no unauthorized trail or stunt building will be accepted in Theo.

Second, we actually have some future plans to build some sort of cool stunt, possibly a skinny, in this same area. Illegal builds like this can harm our efforts to get this approved.

Third, we are still a pilot project and need to make sure Theo gets approved. If we allow renegade trail building, it only hurts our effort to get the project approved.

Fourth, why after all the discussion on this and knowing we are going to eventually build similar stuff in the future, does anyone bother? Especially since they should know it's just going to get torn down again. We have too many eyes on the trail, especially right now, so it's not going to happen, no matter how hard you try.

Again, please be patient with us. This thing that was built sounds really cool. If it was suggested to the board and put through the normal process, it might have been allowed to go in anyway. Things like this do take time, but it is so worth having it be approved that time is no big deal.

You might be right, but I doubt it. I am sure they are the same people who have been confronted here and on the trail itself. I don't know for sure though.

I agree with Alex, these people probably spend too much time on the trail to read any discussions on a forum. These obstacles were probably built for the here and now, not as a long lasting obstacle. You know, drag some crap on the trail and ride it a few hours, then take off. They obviously don't have the big picture in mind.

From what I was told, they took the time to make it super solid, like it was going to stay. I guess it was actually pretty nice. Wish they would have approached us first....maybe the stuff to remake it is still there and can possibly be approved later. I guess we will see.

super solid
I tried it before it came apart. It was OK, but it wasn't that strong and wouldn't have lasted too long. Be patient and there wil be fun stuff built. Just takes time when you have to deal with 'the man'. We were thinking of using the other big log for a skinny at the top of the hill.
stuff to remake it
It's there, just dispersed.
