Looking at 2006, we have an enormous challenge in front of us.
Per the terms of our DNR grant, we have to build 12.5+ miles of finished singletrack beginning in April of 2006, and ending June 30, 2007. That's 14 months to put in 4 more miles than is currently at Lebanon. Oh yeah, it took 3+ years to do Lebanon.
Consider this your first invite! We are going to need massive volunteer support to pull this off.
We are trying to set the MORC calendar and want your feedback as to what day works best for you to have a trail building session on. We will likely be having 2 sessions mid week, and one weekend session.
Thanks
Scott

Wow. Three a week. Cool.
Should be easy for people to fit a session (or two) into their schedule. :D

Murphy is going to be great, but I'm going to have a hard time getting out there, with all the work there is to do at Theo. That's a lot of trail with a lot of terrain. I would hope that there are mechanical devices in the plans.

we're planning on having 3 machines going 8 hours a week all summer. it's going to be monumental.

The nature of the Murphy-Hanrehan trail project is different than any one we've taken on before. This project will be constructed by paid contractors. How that arrangement ultimately works out is still to be determined.
What we do know now, is that MORC will not be the responsible party for the construction of the trail. We will have a say in the design and layout of the trail, but the initial construction will be bid out to contractors.
I would go into more detail if I had it, but things are relatively fluid at the moment.
As info becomes public, I will keep everyone posted.
This project is happening, and happening soon. 3RPD and MORC are aiming to have the beginner and intermediate sections open for riding before the end of '06.

Ya know, I live in 'Sconni, and I've got my own trials to build/maintain here, but if I can make up there for a weekend session or something, I'm all over it! I'm up there at the mom in laws house often enough that I may be able to come by and shove some dirt at some point. Just keep us in the know. I check back here every so often.
