I ride enduro and frequent the Nemadji trail system just south of Duluth on 23 near Holyoke.

Everytime I ride there I wonder why no one rides Mtn Bike there.... these single track trails are more extensive than anything I have seen elsewhere in MN (about 60-70 miles of single track)... and they are burned in with berms better than anything a Mtn Bike could do alone with steep climbs and steep drops liberally throughout... simply SWEET for riding a Mtn Bike on....

Anyone ride these trails?

Anyone want to? (I know them pretty well)

P.S.- I doubt that any dirtbikers would get worked up about a Mtn Bike on the trails... I believe foot and other non-motorized traffic on these trails is allowed...

oh, and don't give me some spew about getting hit by a dirtbiker.... unless both 1- your deaf and 2- the dirtbiker is a moron... this is very very highly unlikely...

The dirtbikes almost never exceede 25mph on these trails... which are curvy tight single track... usually more like 10-20mph (worse riders are even slower)... and even running across another dirtbiker is rare..

Roost,

What is the tread like. I've not ridden there but I have ridden in some other areas that are primarily MX and a lot of times the tread is pretty soft. So much so, that it completely zaps your energy and isnt any fun to ride. Maybe this isn't the case at Nemadji. If not, it'd be great to check it out sometime.

I've ridden dirt bikes up there several times. It would be great on a mountain bike when it's dry.

You might want to contact the Straight Arrow club for more info.

Last time I rode there, about four years ago. It was mucky, muddy, wet and ugly. No joy. And the ATVs had torn it all apart, dug trench-deep ruts, etc.

Ick, but that's IMHO.

Ride safe,
