KARE 11 might be showing a segment on CX that we shot at Bassett Creek Park, tonight at 10. If not tonight, then next Tuesday. He's a cool guy and actually pretty funny. Watch for some of the Kenwood boys and I was cheering. Check out Perk in the Kenwood "High Life' skinsuit.

I have met him a few times, he is cool but I swear that guy was high every time. Did you ever see the one where he went over the bars at GLX? (I think it was GLX)

I was wondering how they were going to get it on air last night. They weren't done shooting until almost 6 and then they were going to get a bite to eat. Next Tuesday, I guess.

I have no idea if Perk will be on tonight showcasing cyclocross, BUT the real thing (http://www.kenwoodcyclery.com/2005statecross.html) is this Sunday at Bassett Creek Park (http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&countryid=US&addtohistory=&searchtype=address&cat=&address=32nd%20Ave%20N%20%26%20Yates%20Ave%20%20N&city=Crystal&state=MN&zipcode=55422&search=Get%20Map) in Crystal. If you have never seen cross, you owe it to yourself to come and see the hardest sport I have ever competed in. The important words to remember are:

Super-Fan Party Tent on the course!

After thinking about that for a sec, I might be wrong. That would be Perk at Play right? I was thinking the Extra. If I catch the news I'll watch for it.

That does rule that we got local cycling coverage like this, but ...

... that "Perk" guy who does those Perk at Play things is stupid and annoying. :)

He was actually different than I thought. He had a good sense of humor, and was willing to do things over and over to get it 'right'. The goofball thing is a shtick, but I bet we get a good walk-in turnout to watch. Right in the middle of the filming he turned and said, "Dude, you're bike's pink."

A story from a co-worker:

While waiting for a table at a local restaurant, Perk walked in and asked for a table. When he was told it would be a 45 minute wait he said, "Don't you know who I am?"

The hostess looked up at him and said... "No."

:crazy2:

LOL, that's good. Do you know what Perk said back? Or if he even got a table?

I can't remember the rest of the story... but I don't think he was pleased.

I just know my co-worker and her husband were having a tough time holding back the laughter.

So he was really expecting a seat? Jezz, don't be so selfish Perk.

hmmmm...That doesn't sound like the guy I met last Tuesday. I wonder if he was being self deprecating? He didn't come across arrogant at all.

The CX bit made it in as one of the top 3 best cosumes. For the yearly Perk awards that is. I still think the snow removal was the best overall (not costume) of the year.

Yes, that was first in something I think.
