Beware of the No Trespassing signs on the new(ish) off camber connector between Oak Ridge and Peninsula loops. Rode it last night with Charlie (Trail Builder) and he recomends staying off that section, although he is skeptical about anyones ability to own that section of Greenway. He and Bill are going to check it out and see if it is legit.

Now Blaine, lets not get it all started on this thread. But if Porter can't give you some, I'm sure someone from somewhere will fill you in on how to ride.:etard:

I might be there.

Any Problems with a guy on a Single and shooting some video of everyone playing on the "obstacles of interest"?

Any updates, still posted as NO? Are you talking about the steep link from the lake/gravel trail to the dead end tar road?

Heath- The part in question is the newest part of the trail. You cut the corner off the gravel trail and run along the hillside on the off-camber stuff and then it kicks you out on the gravel again. You cross over and through the marshy area up towards the Osprey nest loop(penninsula loop). I havent heard any updates yet and after I leave work I wont be able to access the MORC site so feel free to check tonight. If there is no update we can decide whether or not we want to ride it when we get there. Out of respect, I would advise to stay off of that section too.

I just rode Mammoth today 10-28 from the north end. I got into the "off camber newer section" going south. The second bridge was out so I muscled it back into place. Then I saw the No Tresspassing Signs. The land owner threw trees across the trail at several places. Not nice! He has signs on the trail and also along the crushed limestone trail.

My suggestion is to try to find out the real boundaries of the no tresspass land. Then just make trail go around on the down hill side. That would be quite a bit of work.

I like this trail section and hope something gets worked out.

FWIW, you might be able to find the property boundries and owner here:

Fun ride guys. Thanks for showing me the trail system. Would have been VERY lost trying to find my way through that myself. Lots of really fun stuff out there.

Rocks are hard and leave bruises. Go back 1 space and try that turn again. Pay $10.00 for ice for your hand.

When riding skinny - keep both wheels on the skinny. No, your derailure does not count. Loose 3 turns fixing 2 mechanicals after 2 people ride their derailures off Log of Death 1. (Yes, I was one of them :hit:)

The width of handlebars which can make it through a 24" gap between 2 trees are those whose length is less than or equal to 24". The width of handlebars that can make it through the tree itself is 0. Remove branches from mouth and try again.

When launching yourself off a washer stunt, endoing on takeoff is usually a bad thing. Loose 2 oz of blood.

If your bike is 5' long and a switchback is 4' long, you're basically screwed dude. Lose a turn for losing it on the turn.

If a tree branch is 4' off the ground and your handlebars are 3'7 feet off the ground, you're also pretty much screwed. Dismount bike an roll again.

Thanks for the great ride guys. We'll have to do it again real soon.

You could of avoided all of those problems if you just would have read my "riding tips" section and website. ohh wait, I don't have one and I was the one who endoed the washing machine... crap, now I am going to get told how to ride again.

All funnin aside, it was a fun ride, even though I got a bit tired.

I'll second that. It was great riding with y'all. The Mammoth trail is a blast. A little bit of everything and lots of very narrow singletrack, just the way I likes it. Destrago and I refeuled (you could say "gassed up") at Chipotle and I went on to the do the river bottoms. With such great weather I couldn't think of not riding more.

Geez, you couldn't have asked for nicer weather in late October. The trail was in good condition and what a fun group to ride with. Glad you guys all enjoyed the Mammoth Tour. I had a blast. FYI- Guided Tours run until the snow flies and then start back up in the spring!:crazy2:

Hope the bumps an bruises don't get to you too much. We will have to do it again soon. Take it easy guys! Happy trails.
