New dirt on the road

Anyone know why all the new dirt is being spread on the wider roads/trails in the area of the MTB trails? Is it just to fill in the ruts (of the unsustainable trails)?

Also, what is happening where the bogs are being deepened off of Wirth parkway between Glenwood and 55?

I'd guess the dirt is part of ski trail maintenance.

The ski trails are being expanded, so you'll see more work being done. We may be losing a small amount of trail at the end of Zip due to the expansion. If that happens we'll be re-routing it on Saturday/Sunday.

A new culvert is going in between 55 and Glenwood. There may be some ski trail expansion stuff going on there too.

yea it is in prep for the city of lakes loppet, a piston bully has to fairly level(cross wise) ground to groom. also wirth is preping for new snow making equiptment. the loppet is having a trail day this saturday.

I was the second track in the fresh dirt Monday afternoon. When I finished 5 laps there were at least 30 tracks. Lots of use.
