A few observations about the project:
I ran across a group of ladies walking the trails and said hello. Later I saw them again at the entrance sign in the North loop debating where they had just walked. I helped them decipher where they had been. One thought that the trails wouldn't last because she had 'heard' that they would erode. I informed her that wasn't the case, and that the off road trails would outlast any of the walking trails and gave the group a lesson in water management. Changed a couple of attitudes. The same woman worried about safety and the chance of getting hit by a bike (obviously she was a worry wort) and they seemed impressed that there was an etiquette to follow. One of the other women then said that they probably wouldn't have even walked in the park a year ago, and I pointed out that MORC completely changed the park demographic in a positive manner. This seemed to impress them, and I told them that they were welcome to use the trails whenever they wanted, but try to be aware of the other users. A couple of women rode into the entrance, I said goodbye, and while I was exiting a young couple strolled down the road to walk the park. Pretty cool.
