So I'm out at Leb today and I realize there's in fact an obstacle/path I haven't taken before:

That looked like a GREAT idea. Bob Shepard even told me that it's not too hard, esp on a 293 which we both ride. Unfortunately I didn't set it up right and bailed. I think I had too much weight forward and endoed when my shock compressed. For some reason I ended up in front of my bike, my bike rotated around almost 180 degrees, was caught on the tree and my right foot was still clipped in as I went around one side of the tree and my bike continued down the path I normally take around the other side of the tree. Somehow, I have nothing more than a large bruise/scrape from the tree on the achilles of my right foot. Had I been going faster, I think my ankle may very well have snapped under the force. Scary!
Note to Self: Do not decide to do this after you've already lined up for the normal route. My title holds. Yummm...tree.

Tony, from the title I thought you had taken up that dangerous sport of Tetherball again.
Good to hear that you weren't severly injured

Well, if it makes you feel better, I also endo'd that spot 2 weeks ago on a night ride. In my infinite wisdom, I decided to try to hop off earlier (farther to the right) and get some air, rather than rolling it like I usually do. It didn't work. Right over the bars.

I'm not sure what spot you guys are refering to.

I take that line every time I ride the XX. I too have almost gone over though, especially when I'm going over slower than normal.
I was riding behind Shad in this area and saw him actually launch off that rock.
I tend to drop the front over just as the picture shows and hope for the best.
I'm surprised more people don't take that line... but it is tricky.
Didn't someone break their rib on that rock? aka rib rock.
Glad to hear there were no serious injurys.

early in xx. the rock that you can ride across the top edge around a little tree or drop off the side to the right. just after it is a big rock in the middle of the trail and then the little jog before the log table top.

Rib rock is in the lower rock garden area of the XX (directly below the catwalk climb) - its a red rock sticking out just before you get to the log ride that Sean E. loves so much ;)
We need a nice map with all these obstacles named...

...over those logs. Right now the silly camelsack has drawn my ire. Awkward OTB last weekend has left my confidence shattered after thinking it was a non-event.
Was only able to get in 1 lap last night with Bob, Ted, Jason and Aaron (?). Forgot how fun that place is at night. A reverse lap was discussed but I don't think acted upon. Next week.

I saw three anonymous riders take off for a second lap.
BTW, I finally crashed on Ted's log last night. I came in a little to fast, and didn't square it up. My tire skidded off the the side, leaving me in the dirt. Now, I can also whine that it is too difficult.
