I'm intested in seeing what you have for a training schedule, etc. The Team Ski Hut people look pretty serious.
Bty, I looked at your profile, "Dumb and Dumber" and "Napoleon Dynomite" are painful.:D

movies that I took my wife to was Dumb and Dumber. I was very pumped going to it; Jim Carrey I idolize, previews looked good, etc. So I happily sit down with my big ass MF sized popcorn, coke, flask, and my girl. Life is going to be good. Except the movie was stupid. Sure a few parts were OK but really. I kept saying to my wife, I'm sorry for making you see this...
BTY we should get a life and go to bed.

Keeping the blog up will likely help keep you motivated for training. I'm really interested in seeing what your trainer has to say. Would you be using a heart monitor to do zone targeting, interval training, etc.
I'm trying to figure out a plan for myself. I don't have the same goals as you but still want to improve.

Mike will not be putting me on a heart rate monitor and plus they're wayyyy to expensive. My plan starts Monday so be looking foreward to some new workouts i'll be doing!

why not??
for someone starting out, this is the easist way to learn how to "feel" what you're body is doing. otherwisw you'll overtrain by not resting enough.

I gotta agree that HMs are not that expensive. I've been researching and I think that Polar F11 ($150) or the Polar F6 ($100) will be one of my next purchases. They are mid range in price and features.
This give me a good idea to start a thread and see what other people have and how they use it.
The reason I will get one is to make sure that I'm not cheating myself on workouts and to actually have a plan. Last year my plan was get on the bike and work hard. No interval training etc.

And how many of them would be interested in contributing something to Off-Road, MORC's quarterly newsletter?
If you've got anything remotely bike-related that you feel like writing about, there's a good chance we've got space for it. The Fall 2005 edition is on its way to the printer now, but I'd love to get a head start on our Winter edition, which will come out in early February.
Shoot me a PM or an email to marketing@morcmtb.org if you're interested...

I decided to start my own blog (http://heath-s.blogspot.com/) so my family has something to track our MTB race fun. If you've been to Buck Hill you've seen my oldest. He's the headliner picture on our blog now. I think he looks a tad silly, but mom being an 80's wavo rocker punkster let's him do up his hair once school is out. He's a good kid so no biggie. Perhaps I'll put some Buck race pictures in there for him...thanks jag/zilla.
Agree, Brendan's blog is a good read. I like the race recaps and course pictures most. I've looked at Jordan's 2. Blogs are a neat thing.
The links from blog-to-blog (top racers) are nice too. I like to watch how Paul and Jenna are doing. One of my goals, keep up w/Jenna at the races, she is fast!!
Thanks to all bloggers.
