I have an '03 Redline Monocog with a loose Aheadset. When I grab the front brake and rock it, you can feel the steerer tube on the fork shifting around. Plue the headset rotates in the head tube. How do you go about tightening it? I know this is probably a simple fix, but I'm a simple man. Oh yeah, I need to get it tight by tomorrow AM.
Thanks.

First go to the fridge and make sure there is a post fix beer. If not, go to store and buy some.
Once the beer is confirmed, loosen the bolts that secure the stem to the steer-tube. Then tighten the bolt that is on the top of the steer-tube (center of the headset cap). This is the bolt that will actually tighten the headset. You don't want to really crank down on this, just get it tight enough to remove any play in the headset.
Once this is done, make sure your bars and front wheel are still lined up and tighten the bolts on the stem.
Go have your beer.
Disclaimer: This is for a threadless headset.

Of course there's a post fix beer. And a pre. And a mid. Aren't those essential tools? What kind of beer goes with a headset fix? Lager, ale, stout? I'm thinking a pumpkin ale.
Seriously, thanks for the advice. I was headed in the right direction, just didn't realize you had to loosen them stem bolts.

The pre and mid beer are probably a good idea because it’s key you don’t torque the bolt too much. If you do you will dislodge or strip the star bolt inside the fork tube or crack the end cap and then you’ll find yourself at your LBS.

Bingo, baby! I didn't even get to the beer first. However, a celebration is in order. Blue Moon Pumpkin Ales all around!

I have had problems with the Aheadset brand of head set. I have had 2 that would never stay tight. I pulled it out and put in a WTB. Never had a problem after that.

Make sure to also place the order for the CK beer glass so you can properly install your new headset!!! Drinking from the bottle or using another pint glass will cause all kinds of problems with the installation.
